UNVEILING OF THE THEME FOR THE 8TH EDITION OF THE MARINER

This is introducing, The Mariner web (Official blog).

The Mariner Theme

The Mariner, is the journal of the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, Bayelsa, Nigeria.

The publication of the first edition of the journal was in November, 2002, the year the State Chapter came on stream, with the pioneer Chairman, Nengi Ilagha. Since then, six more editions have been published, under these Chairmen: Pastor Ebinyo Ogbowei; Chief Lambert Ototo; Engr. Emmanuel Frank Opigo; and Barr. Michael Afenfia.

Seven editions of The Mariner has so far been published, with the themes:

1. Drums of Celebration; 2002
2. Call of the River Nun; 2006
3. Books Everywhere; 2008
4. Centenary Chimes; 2014
5. The 33rd Reunion; 2015
6. M.A. Nanga- 50 Years On; 2016
7. The Vanishing Class; 2017

A new Executive came on board in July, 2017, under the Chairmanship of Bina Nengi-Ilagha, the first female to hold that position in the 16 years of the State chapter.

The 8th edition of The Mariner sought to further extend and expand the frontiers of the magazine and writing. Therefore, the call for entries was advertised beyond our borders. The response was very encouraging for a start.

We were therefore encouraged to keep the doors of the Mariner open for writers and readers alike, and from far and near to have access. The web address of The Mariner is; www.anabayelsa-mariner.com.

As we introduce the website to our numerous writers and readers of our journal, we also use this forum to unveil the title of the eighth edition produced by the Chapter. It is simply titled; LET THE INK FLOW. It is a whooping one hundred and forty-page beautiful, full colour journal.
In addition, we have some T-shirts advertising the Mariner, and particularly the edition with this timeless title of, Let The Ink Flow.
